It’s all Wood to me…

 But not to our design partner, Kathleen.  Kathleen was at the Canadian Home FurnishingsMarket show last month and the current design trend in home décor is all-natural woods.

Natural woods provide a sleek, modern feel to a room, and at the same time add warmth, and texture. They bring nature indoors. The woods highlighted right now tend to be more natural in colour and unadorned in design. Below we’ve shown a few pieces that are great examples of the trend.

A Valentine for You

Design partner, Kathleen, has gathered all sorts of fresh, new ideas from the Canadian Home Furnishings Market show and she’d like to share them with you.  As a special “give” in February (it is the month of love, after all) Kathleen is donating eight (8) mini-design consultations to the first eight (8) It’s a Steal customers who sign up.

The consultations will run on Saturday, February 16 from 11am to noon and again from 1pm to 2pm at 15 minute intervals.

Fiona will discuss categories of “stuff” and effective ways to reduce clutter as well as how to decide what to keep and what to let go. She’ll talk about what’s valuable, in terms of memories, heritage and resale. And sometimes, it just nice to clear out some old stuff to make way for new.
